Staffing
The service is managed by qualified professionals who have substantial and direct experience of the criminal justice system.
Clinical interventions are provided by honorary qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and counselling psychologists, who have completed advanced training recognised by the UKCP or BPS. Theoretical models used include; Cogntive behavioural, psychodynamic, integrative, dialectical behaviour and existential therapy. Some placements are provided to trainees undertaking masters and doctorate programmes in counselling, psychotherapy and counselling psychology. Our recruitment process is rigorous to ensure the provision of safe, ethical and high-quality clinical intervention.
Clinical Supervision and Accountability
Weekly clinical supervision is provided by accredited clinicians with specific training in forensic psychotherapy or forensic psychology. An ongoing programme of forensic training is provided every month. A range of polices is used to ensure there is appropriate clinical accountability within a custodial setting. Full professional indemnity insurance is in place.
